Internet marketing pioneers set for Tehran

Internationally-renowned pioneer of Iranian Information Technology Dr Ali Akbar Jalali has announced the Second Internet Marketing Conference in Iran. The conference, which is hoped to increase awareness of online business opportunities in the country, takes place in Tehran in February.
The press conference of the Internet Marketing Conference in Iran arranged to announce the event was attended by a number of prominent figureheads and was held at the Hamrah-e Avval service hall ?1868?. The conference?s executive and lecturer Hamid Sepidnam, spoke of the main aims of the conference, which were said to include direct marketing on the web, the role of social media in marketing, analysis of the web, investigating successful companies and samples, localisation of internet marketing strategies, SEO and optimization of content, profitability models in the web environment for the companies and electronic banking.
Dr Jalali used the Press conference of the Internet Marketing Conference in Iran to stress the importance of the bandwidth increases that Iran was about to enjoy and how they could be used to make Iran more prominent on a global scale, taking comfort from the growth experienced by similar countries in the past. Jalai also emphasised the accepted prediction that within two decades, 95% of all business transactions will rely upon technology, therefore meaning that it is crucial that Iran keeps up the pace with the rest of the world.
Achieving independence through public sector support
February?s conference will be used to promote the electronic commerce culture and draw attention to the way both the public and private sector can come together to contribute to the future of electronic commerce in Iran. Dr. Edalatian, a member of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce suggested that online marketing was a great way from maximum income to prosper from limited expense, and jobs will be created in the process, whilst entrepreneurship will be encouraged. Dr Edalatian also pointed out the boom created by such conferences, and that they should be frequently held to keep momentum gathering.
Amir Fotouhi, member of the scientific committee of this conference, pointed out that despite the success stories that have arisen from online trading in Iran so far, three out of five websites still fail. Fotodhi put this down to lack of business know-how amongst website engineers and maintainers, and suggested that this is something that needs to be addressed. He also said that mobile marketing could be a key tool in enabling Iran?s online economy to prosper.
Hamid Sepidnam, speaking as the conference?s host and the main representative of the private sector, emphasised the importance of the government in supporting the private sector to ensure that the aims being outlined by the forthcoming conference were met, in order to create wealth, jobs and investment. Sepidnam showed disappointment that the government had failed to fund the conference, as there was no profit to be made from the private sector?s funding of the venture, which ultimately served to create jobs, wealth and secure the future of the country.
The international conference on internet marketing would be a great step towards not only raising awareness of the problems faced in Iran when setting up online businesses, but would outline potential strategies to being prosperity to online commerce in Iran, by taking note of what worked for other countries of similar prestige and the problems faced by Iran in the past, to ensure growth and a respected position in the global economy.
The Second International Conference on Internet Marketing in Iran will be held on Bahman 13th and 14th (February 2nd and 3rd 2012) at the IRIB Conference Center. The [Kaspid Company alongside the BGW Holding will hold this conference jointly.

Join Our Censorship Protest!
Have you been paying attention to all the hubbub online about the proposed U.S. legislation (SOPA/PIPA) that threatens internet freedom? I wrote about it last week over on WordPress.org, but the?gist?is this: there?s a bill in the U.S. Senate that if passed would put?publishing?freedom severely at risk, and could shut down entire sites at the whim of media companies. Fight for the Future created this nifty video to sum it up better than I can.
On January 18, 2012, sites all over the internet will be blacking out to protest and try to mobilize more people to speak out against this bill coming up in the Senate next week ? S.?968: the Protect IP Act (PIPA) ? in an attempt to let U.S. lawmakers know how much opposition there is. WordPress.org, Wikipedia, and even WordPress.com VIP I Can Has Cheezburger? will be participating in the blackout to raise awareness and spur you to action.
Here on WordPress.com, we want to participate as well. Freshly Pressed will be blacked out during the strike.
Sorry to take away your daily fix of yummy web content, but this bill threatens to do that on a much wider scale. You don?t want that, do you?
More importantly, we are making it possible for you to participate in the protest. There are two options: a ?Stop Censorship? ribbon and a full blackout. The blackout portion will be in effect January 18 from 8am to 8pm EST, while the ribbon will be displayed until January 24. Here?s how to join in:
- Go to?Settings?? Protest SOPA/PIPA in your dashboard.
- Select if you want to join the blackout or show a ribbon.
- If you choose to join the blackout, you can edit the message that will be shown on your site during the blackout.
- Preview what your protest will look like.
- Click ?Save Changes? button to activate your protest.
That?s it! Easy-peasy activism right at your fingertips.
The ?Stop Censorship??ribbon will display in the upper corner of your site and links to americancensorship.org. It will display until January 24, 2012 (the Senate vote date).
If you choose to do the blackout in addition to the ribbon, then we will black out your site from 8am to 8pm EST along with the official strike. You can customize the message that will appear on your blacked-out site to tell people why this issue is important to you.?Your site will return to just displaying the ribbon after the strike is over.
I hope that a significant number of you on WordPress.com will join in this protest. Publishing freedom is a right we must protect.
And one last pitch: whatever you decide to do about your site, please take a few minutes to head over to americancensorship.org and take action. It only takes a few moments of your time to be an agent of change!
Update, 1/18/2012: For about an hour and a half of the blackout, our blackout option was down because it was not showing the blackout screen and some sites were returning blank error pages. We disabled it until we could make it work properly, which it is now doing, so anyone who chose the blackout option should now see the correct screen.?

2012 Will Bring Wave of Municipal Defaults According to Penny Stock Analyst Peter Leeds

According to Reuters, there are currently several municipalities and cities who have either filed for bankruptcy, or are on the edge of it. Some of these include, but are not limited to Harrisburg, PA; Jefferson County, AL; Vellejo, CA; Central Falls, RI. The list continues to grow.
Penny stock analyst Peter Leeds states that more municipal bankruptcies are on the way, which will come with domestic austerity measures, localized defaults and credit-rating downgrades. "The states have run $100 billion budget shortfalls for several years in a row," explains Leeds, "and that is catching up with them. As they face their budgetary reckoning day, we'll be surrounded by penny stock investments that could do very well for penny stock traders."
The municipalities rely on 40% of their money from their parent states, and these payments are about to be reduced by the majority of states, most of whom are struggling to balance their budgets. In addition, 46 states have a year end in June, so as we approach that budget-balancing fiscal date, many will slash their payments to the municipalities. [Meredith Whitney Advisory Group]
What happens without government stimulus? The various states were recent beneficiaries of the multi-billion dollar Federal Stimulus Program, which saw government payments to them for as much as 30% of their total budgets, and now those payments are over. [CNBC]
"It will be an interesting time for the economy, and for penny stock investors," states Leeds. "There is always opportunity, even during the fiscal hardships which may spread across America, and these opportunities will be available for penny stock traders and penny stock investors. We're looking at penny stock companies that provide services which may help a municipality to reduce costs, or at penny stock service providers which improves revenues."
Some examples of compelling penny stock picks would be traffic signal and roadway logistic service providers, law enforcement ticket processing software, road maintenance consultants, and perhaps casino operators.
"Any products or services that could help a municipality save money or increase revenues will be in demand," Leeds explains. "These will be the penny stock companies that will really excel as the local economies look for some help."
Leeds cautions that penny stock investing and penny stock trading are not for everyone. To become a great penny stock investor, one must first become a great penny stock thinker. Use your head, and be cautious - only then will the odds in penny stocks be tipped in your favor.
